CHOOSING THE RIGHT
HEXAGONAL LED LIGHTING
How many hexagons for your space? 6500 K white or RGB? How do you wire them? Everything you need to know before you order, explained simply.
HOW MANY HEXAGONS FOR MY SPACE?
The basic rule: allow about one hexagon per 16 sq ft (1.5 m²) for real task lighting (detailing level), in a room with an 8–10 ft (2.5–3 m) ceiling. Above 10 ft, the light spreads out: add about 50% more hexagons, or bring the grid closer to the floor with a suspension kit.
6500 K WHITE OR RGB?
Both ranges install the same way. The difference is the use: working or impressing. Many installations combine both.
For working
- Daylight, accurate colors
- Essential for detailing and paintwork
- Maximum illuminance at equal power
- No remote to deal with
Garages · Workshops · Barbers & salons · Showrooms

Lay out your plan
Position the hexagons on the floor before drilling. It's the only way to check the assembly and the spacing.
Locate the power supply
Place the first hexagon near the electrical supply: the others are daisy-chained from it.
Mount the brackets
Anchors suited to the ceiling (concrete, drywall, steel decking). Check the level on every hexagon.
Clip and connect
Push the connectors in until they click, then check that every hexagon lights up before fixing everything permanently.
Test the whole set
Switch everything on, then check for dark spots. One extra hexagon beats a dark corner.
Plug-in or hardwired installation: hardwiring must be done by a licensed electrician, per NEC and local codes. Turn off power at the breaker first.
THE 4 MOST COMMON MISTAKES
Undersizing the installation
Mistake number one. Two extra hexagons cost little; a dark workshop costs you every day. Aim high.
Concentrating everything in the middle
A central cluster leaves the walls and corners in the dark. Spread the hexagons across the whole area.
Mixing color temperatures
4000 K next to 6500 K shows immediately. Stick to a single reference for the whole room.
Forgetting future expansion
Leave room and power capacity to expand later. Ordering the same batch avoids any difference in tint.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I install the hexagons myself?
Yes. The hexagons mount with the hardware supplied and connect to each other without special tools. Any hardwiring must be done by a licensed electrician, per NEC and local codes.
How many hexagons can be chained together?
It depends on the power supply capacity. Beyond about ten hexagons, it's common to split the installation across several supplies. We state this on every quote.
Do RGB hexagons really light in white?
Yes, a white mode is available. For a workstation that demands accurate color rendering, the 6500 K white range still performs better.
What is the minimum ceiling height?
From about 8 ft (2.4 m). Below that, reduce the intensity or space the hexagons further apart to avoid glare.
Can I add hexagons later?
Yes, the system is modular. Order the same reference to guarantee an identical tint, and plan the power supply capacity from the start.
Is there trade pricing?
Yes, volume pricing applies from 5 hexagons, with a free quote within 24 hours and invoicing in your company's name. Visit the trade area.
